Conrad Black

I had been covering Conrad Black at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago since December 1, 2005, (first frame in QT below), ending my watch on June 24, 2011, (last frame in QT below). A judge on Friday, June 24, 2011, ordered Conrad Black back to a US prison for another 13 months on charges of fraud and obstruction of justice.

I never missed him; coming, going, strolling, hiding, entering or exiting the courthouse, a different route, sometimes daily, sometimes throughout the day. He never eluded me.

Black and his associates were originally charged with skimming off some $60 million from his global newspaper empire between 1999 and 2001. Black once ran the world's third largest media empire with such titles as Britain's Daily Telegraph and the Chicago Sun-Times.
